Senior Associate, General Accounting

About the role

Finance team at Saks Global ensures accurate financial records and compliance across its luxury retail operations. The Senior Associate leads day-to-day general ledger activities, oversees month‑end close, and collaborates with cross‑functional teams on reconciliations and audits. Based in India, this role follows an on‑site work model.

What you’ll do

• Lead and perform general ledger accounting activities including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
• Oversee month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close processes
• Prepare and review balance sheet and P&L reconciliations per GAAP/IFRS
• Analyze financial data and variances, providing insights and resolving discrepancies
• Support internal and external audits with schedules and documentation
• Ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies and internal controls
• Collaborate with Accounts Payable, Receivable, Tax, and FP&A teams
• Identify and implement process automation to improve accuracy

What you’ll bring

• 4-6 years of general ledger accounting experience
• Masters or bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• Proficiency with ERP systems such as Workday, SAP, Oracle or NetSuite
• Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables and formulas
• Experience with GAAP/IFRS and internal controls
• Exposure to financial reporting tools like Hyperion or Power BI
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities
• Ability to work in multinational/shared services environment
