About the role

Join Point72’s Technology team as a Database Support Engineer in Bengaluru. Provide operational support for on-prem and cloud database platforms, monitor health, perform maintenance, troubleshoot incidents, and drive continuous improvement. Collaborate with application owners and DB engineers across time zones. Leverage expertise in SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Sybase, AWS Aurora, RDS, EC2, EBS, S3, PowerShell, Korn Shell, Python, and observability tools. 7+ years of DB administration and infrastructure engineering required. What you’ll do

  • Operational support for on-prem & cloud DB platforms
  • Monitor DB health; respond to alerts; diagnose & remediate
  • Routine maintenance: patching, upgrades, housekeeping
  • Troubleshoot incidents; root cause analysis
  • Collaborate with app owners, support, DB engineers
  • Guide on DB best practices & standards
  • Cross-team problem resolution; continuous improvement
  • Design & test automation & self-service DB capabilities
  • Drive improvement; reduce toil; increase efficiency
  • Follow-the-Sun shift coverage & handoffs

What you’ll bring

  • Bachelor's in CS/Engineering or related field; advanced degree a plus
  • 7+ years DB admin & infra engineering
  • Experience with SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Sybase
  • Knowledge of AWS Aurora, RDS, EC2, EBS, S3
  • Scripting in PowerShell, Korn Shell, Python
  • Observability tooling & monitoring design
  • Troubleshoot under pressure; ownership mindset
  • Work across time zones & teams
  • Excellent communication; build scalable, reliable self-service platforms
