About the role
Database Engineering & Operations team at MUFG ensures enterprise database platforms are secure, highly available, and performant. The Senior Database Engineer administers Oracle environments, automates operations, and supports secondary open‑source databases while driving SRE practices and compliance. Bengaluru office, on-site, hybrid schedule with occasional remote days as needed.
What you’ll do
- Administer and support Oracle Database platforms across environments
- Develop automation solutions using Shell, Python, Ansible
- Implement SRE practices, monitor SLIs/SLOs, improve reliability
- Lead incident, problem, and change management for critical databases
- Ensure security, compliance, and audit readiness
- Mentor junior engineers and share technical expertise
- Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, and security teams
- Drive continuous improvement and platform modernization
What you’ll bring
- 8+ years database engineering/administration experience
- Strong Oracle Database administration, RAC, Data Guard, ASM
- Experience with MySQL, MariaDB or PostgreSQL
- Proficiency in Shell scripting, Python, Ansible for automation
- Hands‑on with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure)
- Expertise in RHEL Linux administration
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- Oracle certifications preferred
