About the role

Jord International's Engineering department is hiring a Modeller Plant 3D (Contract) based in Vadodara, Gujarat, India. The role develops 3D plant layouts in Autodesk Plant 3D using inputs from the piping team leader, design engineers, and project managers, linking P&IDs, producing 2D drawings and BOMs to Jord standards, and performing clash checks in Navisworks. Day-to-day work covers equipment, piping, cable tray, and structure arrangement for oil and gas, chemical, and HRSG projects, with OSHA and international maintenance/operation standards applied.

What you’ll do

  • Generate design models in Autodesk Plant 3D for structure, equipment, piping, cable tray, cable tray support, and pipe supports
  • Draft smart P&IDs in Autodesk Plant 3D
  • Arrange plant layout for structure, equipment, cable tray, and piping for ease of maintenance, installation, and cost effectiveness
  • Use Navisworks Manage to review the 3D model and perform clash checks
  • Extract GA arrangement, layout, orthographic, isometric drawings, and bills of materials from the 3D model
  • Liaise with the piping team leader and mechanical engineers during drawing and P&ID development
  • Interface with pipe stress engineers to resolve pipe routing issues
  • Develop company standards for plant layout and piping design

What you’ll bring

  • Diploma or bachelor's in mechanical engineering
  • At least 2 to 5 years of experience as a main Autodesk Plant 3D modeler in equipment arrangement and piping layout for oil and gas, chemical industries, and HRSG
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in 3D piping software and proficiency in drafting smart P&IDs in Plant 3D
  • In-depth experience in plant, piping, and equipment arrangement for process plants and skid-mounted units, including pipe supports design
  • High operating skills in 2D and 3D drafting in Plant 3D, with basic knowledge of Inventor software
  • Knowledge of developing piping specifications in Plant 3D
  • Essential knowledge of pipe supports and cable tray supports, and working knowledge of drafting isometric piping drawings in 3D software
  • Very good reading, writing, and verbal communication skills in English

Nice to have

  • Basic knowledge of piping design codes (ASME B 31.3 / B 31.1)
  • Site piping erection experience is beneficial
