About the role
ABB’s Automation – Energy Division seeks an Associate Project Engineer in Bangalore to support industrial automation projects. The role involves designing, configuring, and commissioning Distributed Control Systems (DCS) for process industries. This is a full-time, on-site position requiring significant domestic travel.
What you’ll do
- Act as design authority for low to medium complexity engineering disciplines
- Develop DCS solutions including configuration, programming, and customization
- Install DCS systems at customer sites with proper infrastructure integration
- Execute commissioning activities like system validation, loop checks, and functional testing
- Conduct site visits involving over 70% domestic travel
- Collaborate with teams to align deliverables with customer specifications
- Prepare As-Built documents and ensure smooth project handover
What you’ll bring
- 3-5 years experience in industrial automation DCS commissioning within the process automation industry
- Diploma or degree in engineering, specifically in instrumentation or chemical engineering
- Enhanced knowledge of 800xA systems
- Strong stakeholder and team management capabilities
