Edge Reliability Engineering Team at Akamai builds and operates the global edge platform that powers media and web delivery for billions of users. The Senior Site Reliability Engineer leads complex reliability investigations, designs observability, and creates automation and AI‑assisted diagnostics to reduce operational toil. Remote, India.

What you’ll do

• Lead reliability and performance investigations across global edge platforms
• Troubleshoot distributed system issues across application, platform, network, and OS layers
• Partner with engineering, product, support, and network teams to deliver scalable solutions
• Design and improve observability metrics, dashboards, and alerts
• Develop automation tools and AI‑assisted diagnostics to streamline operations
• Conduct reliability‑centered architecture reviews and post‑incident analyses
• Provide off‑hours support for critical incidents as needed

What you’ll bring

• Bachelors in Computer Science or related field
• 6+ years SRE or systems infrastructure experience
• Strong Linux/Unix administration and diagnostic skills
• Proficiency in Python, Bash or Go for automation
• SQL query experience for telemetry analysis
• Understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS)
• Experience building observability (SLIs, SLOs, dashboards)
• Familiarity with AI models and implementing agentic workflows
