Information Security Engineering Manager, Application Security

About the role

Application Security team at Wells Fargo builds and operates security solutions to protect software across the enterprise. The manager leads strategy, development, and operational management of Application Security platforms, drives roadmap execution, and partners with product and engineering teams to embed shift‑left security. Bengaluru, India, on-site, hybrid model with occasional remote days.

What you’ll do

• Manage a team of engineers designing, testing, and maintaining complex security solutions
• Lead security consulting on large projects to ensure policy conformity
• Oversee incident response, forensic investigations, and mitigation strategies
• Drive platform modernization, cloud‑first architecture, and automation for Application Security tools
• Partner with product managers, engineers, and vendors to deliver security capabilities
• Mentor, hire, and develop Application Security engineers
• Manage vendor relationships, technology evaluations, and compliance requirements
• Collaborate across technology and business teams to influence security outcomes

What you’ll bring

• 5+ years of Information Security Engineering experience
• 2+ years of Leadership experience

Nice to have

• 5+ years leading Application Security product teams
• Hands‑on expertise with enterprise Application Security tools (Checkmarx, Fortify, AppScan, etc.)
• Strong experience in DevSecOps, security automation, Secure SDLC, and pipeline integration
• Deep understanding of OWASP vulnerabilities and application security risk management
• Knowledge of modern application development technologies (APIs, containers, cloud)
• Industry‑recognized certifications (CSSLP, CISSP, CISM)
• Experience with AI/GenAI security concepts and threat modeling

Education

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or related field
