Networking Managed Services Engineer (L1)

About the role

NTT DATA is seeking a Networking Managed Services Engineer (L1) in Bangalore, India, to deliver managed services that keep clients' IT infrastructure and systems operational. Day-to-day, you will proactively monitor client infrastructure, investigate and resolve first-line incidents via telephonic, ITSM ticket, or chat support, execute maintenance activities such as patching and configuration changes, and follow approved procedures for request fulfilment. You will also identify optimization and automation opportunities, support occasional project work and disaster recovery tests, and ensure smooth shift handovers. This is a hybrid role.

What you’ll do

• Proactively identify, investigate, and resolve technical incidents and problems to support clients effectively.
• Monitor client infrastructure and solutions to catch errors before or as soon as they occur.
• Investigate first-line incidents, understand root causes, and follow approved procedures for request fulfilment.
• Provide telephonic, ITSM ticket, or chat support.
• Execute maintenance activities such as patching and configuration changes.
• Ensure smooth shift handovers for continuous service.
• Identify opportunities for optimization, including reducing common incidents and finding automation possibilities for request fulfilment, incident resolution, and process improvements.
• Occasionally support project work and disaster recovery functions and tests, and help update existing knowledge or share insights.

What you’ll bring

• Basic understanding of Pulse Secure SSL VPN, Virtual Juniper, Palo Alto, Fortinet Firewalls, Cisco Nexus switches, ASR and ISR routers, Cisco ACS, ISE, Meraki switches, and routing protocols such as B
• Highly disciplined in handling tickets on a day-to-day basis and acting promptly per defined SOPs.
• Good understanding of ITSM tools and ITSM processes.
• Strong planning skills that consider possible changes and circumstances.
• A strong work ethic, including the capacity to put in longer hours when necessary.
• Adaptability to changing environments.
• A client-focused approach that creates positive client experiences throughout their journey.
• A bachelor’s degree in information technology/computing or equivalent experience.
