About the role
Site Reliability Engineer role within LSEG's Markets and Risk Intelligence division. Responsible for supporting Snowflake environments, managing releases, incident management, automation with Terraform/CloudFormation, monitoring with Datadog, and collaborating with developers. Requires 3–6 years SRE/DevOps experience, Snowflake, SQL, AWS/Azure, IaC, Python/Bash/PowerShell, CI/CD, ServiceNow, and strong communication skills.
What you’ll do
- Monitor and maintain Snowflake databases and related infrastructure for performance, availability, and reliability.
- Participate in incident management, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
- Maintain and improve documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures.
- Participate in shift rotations and occasional out‑of‑hours support.
- Implement releases and changes across development, test, and production environments.
- Apply standard processes for database administration, including backups, recovery, and security.
- Automate deployment and maintenance tasks using Infrastructure‑as‑Code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Develop scripts and tools to improve operational efficiency.
- Configure and maintain monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Datadog).
- Analyze system performance and implement improvements for cost efficiency and resilience.
- Work closely with developers and product teams to embed reliability into the software lifecycle.
- Contribute to knowledge sharing and team documentation.
- Support global SRE initiatives and cross‑regional collaboration.
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field.
- 3–6 years of experience in SRE, DevOps, or related roles.
- Hands‑on experience with Snowflake or other database technologies.
- Proficiency in SQL and basic query optimization.
- Familiarity with AWS or Azure and IaC tools Terraform, CloudFormation.
- Scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Experience with monitoring tools Datadog or similar.
- ITSM platform experience, ServiceNow preferred.
- Good communication and problem‑solving skills.
