Junior SDET - Python, AI Quality Engineering

About the role

Cognizant seeks a Junior SDET to join its Quality Engineering team, focusing on AI-powered applications and intelligent automation solutions. The role involves designing Python-based test frameworks, validating chatbots and copilots, and performing AI-specific quality checks like hallucination detection. This full-time position is based in Noida with potential work in Chennai.

What you’ll do

• Design, develop, and maintain automation frameworks, utilities, and testing accelerators using Python
• Execute functional, integration, regression, and API testing for web and mobile applications
• Validate AI-powered applications, chatbots, copilots, and conversational systems
• Develop test scenarios for prompt validation, response evaluation, and AI workflow testing
• Perform AI-specific quality validations including hallucination detection and output quality assessment
• Collaborate with developers, product owners, and quality engineering teams to ensure high-quality releases
• Identify defects, troubleshoot issues, and drive quality improvements across development lifecycles

What you’ll bring

• 2 to 3 years of experience in Software Testing and Quality Engineering
• Strong programming skills in Python
• Hands-on experience in test automation for web, mobile, or API applications
• Good understanding of software testing methodologies, SDLC, and QA best practices
• Exposure to automation frameworks and test scripting
• Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving capabilities

Nice to have

• Understanding of Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI concepts
• Knowledge of Prompt Engineering and AI Copilot testing
• Exposure to AI Agents, Agentic Workflows, Automation Agents, or Chatbot testing
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and CI/CD practices
