About the role
KONE is a global leader in elevators, escalators, and automatic building doors, serving over one billion people daily across 60+ countries. The Engineer - NBS Installation role in Siliguri oversees on-site installation projects from planning through handover, managing site safety, environmental practices, subcontractor coordination, customer communication, and team leadership. The position is responsible for project delivery, cost control, documentation, and final equipment testing within KONE’s People Flow® business.
What you’ll do
- Accountable for customer satisfaction and quality of installation
- Accountable for subcontractor quality and safety performance
- Single point of contact toward the customer for site management and internal/external communication
- Aims at achieving allocated sales targets and add-on sales and variations during installations
- Develops and maintains cordial and professional relationships with subcontractors
- Accountable for people development, wellbeing, and performance management of site operatives
- Determines objectives, plans, organizes, communicates, controls, and motivates the installation team
- Identifies field operative training needs and manages training plans
What you’ll bring
- Accountable for delivery, site safety, and financial result of installation projects
- Manages environmental aspects including waste handling, hazardous materials, and travel minimization
- Participates in sales/installation hand-over and validates order terms with the salesperson
- Prepares installation program, resource planning, and material/tool delivery and storage
- Places orders to subcontractors and Non KONE factory material suppliers
- Ensures use of correct KONE installation methods and cost control toward R80 targets
- Handles administrative activities including HR management, timesheet approvals, and progress reporting
- Maintains project documentation and updates company management systems such as S-plan milestones
