ADAS/AD System Software Safety Architect Senior Staff

About the role

Qualcomm ADAS/AD Solutions team builds optimized software for automotive ADAS/Autonomy SoCs. The Senior Staff Software Safety Architect leads functional safety architecture, defines safety concepts, conducts ISO 26262 and SOTIF analyses, and serves as primary safety liaison with OEMs and partners. Bangalore, on-site, hybrid schedule with occasional remote days.

What you’ll do

• Lead functional safety activities for ADAS/AD stack development
• Define and maintain safety architecture and requirements
• Conduct ISO 26262 and SOTIF analyses and produce safety cases
• Coordinate with customers, OEMs, Tier‑1 partners and internal teams
• Manage development interface agreements and traceability
• Collaborate with cybersecurity architects on ISO 21434 impacts
• Guide compliance with ASPICE and related standards
• Mentor and influence platform‑level safety strategy

What you’ll bring

• 6+ years software engineering experience
• 5+ years with Master's degree
• 4+ years with PhD
• 3+ years C/C++/Java/Python
• 4+ years ISO 26262 Part 4 and Part 6 experience
• Hands‑on SOTIF (ISO 21448) analysis
• Experience with AUTOSAR Adaptive and Classic
• Knowledge of safety analysis techniques (HARA, FMEA, FTA)

Education

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science or related field
