ADAS/AD System Software Safety Architect/Engineer Staff

About the role

Qualcomm ADAS/AD Solutions team builds optimized ADAS and autonomy SoC solutions. The Senior Safety Architect leads functional safety architecture, defines safety concepts, requirements, and ensures ISO‑26262, SOTIF compliance across software stacks. Works on the ADAS/AD stack in Bangalore, on‑site at Qualcomm India.

What you’ll do

• Lead functional safety activities for ADAS/AD stack development
• Define safety concepts, architecture, and requirements per ISO‑26262 and SOTIF
• Act as primary safety interface with customers, OEMs, and partners
• Coordinate safety analyses (HARA, FMEA, FTA, STPA) and manage safety case documentation
• Ensure requirements traceability and compliance with safety processes
• Collaborate with cyber‑security architects to assess safety impact
• Manage development interface agreements and safety work products
• Guide internal teams and vendors to meet functional safety objectives

What you’ll bring

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related field
• 4+ years software engineering experience
• 10-15 years automotive safety engineering experience
• 4+ years ISO‑26262 Part 4/6 experience
• Expertise in safety analyses (HARA, FMEA, FTA, STPA)
• Experience with functional safety software architecture for ADAS/AD stacks
• Proficiency in C/C++ and Python
• Strong communication and cross‑functional collaboration
