About the role
The Application Engineer role in Chennai supports the quotation and project execution process by reviewing customer inquiries, sizing valves and actuators, and delivering techno-commercial offers. Day-to-day work includes interpreting technical specifications, verifying compliance and legal requirements, coordinating with field sales and internal departments, tracking offer progress in the ERP system, and liaising with customers and third-party inspectors. The position focuses on accurate quote preparation, timely project execution, and customer satisfaction through effective communication.
What you’ll do
- Review, interpret, and process customer inquiries and register them in the ERP system
- Collect and verify necessary details from customers and field sales for quote preparation
- Evaluate technical specifications and identify factors affecting cost, delivery, and compliance
- Determine legal requirements for products based on destination country and product type
- Select, size, and price valves, actuators, and spares according to customer requirements
- Provide application engineering and quotation support to internal and external clients
- Track progress of submitted offers and update the ERP system, and prepare monthly quote and order forecast reports
- Submit required contractual documents, secure approvals, and coordinate with customers, field sales, and cross-functional teams
