Senior Pricing Analyst
About the role
Senior Pricing Analyst role in Thomson Financial’s Central Pricing Team. Responsibilities include deploying pricing models and reporting practices consistently across the business, standardizing and optimizing pricing processes, partnering with Commercial Excellence, Segment, Product Marketing and Finance teams to implement pricing strategies and monitor metrics, owning end‑to‑end pricing operations for product lines, developing documentation and process redesign, creating standardized price performance reporting, investigating anomalies, presenting actionable insights, collating, extracting, validating and cleaning raw data, supporting flexible pricing models, price books and discount guidelines, and conducting ad‑hoc investigations to improve pricing across the business. Requires a Bachelor’s degree, 6‑8 years experience in pricing operations, reporting, data analytics with strong focus on pricing/data operations processes and data analysis, strong communication skills, working knowledge of data analysis/ETL processes and data table structures, experience with Excel, PowerBI/Tableau, Alteryx, Business Objects and/or SQL, cross‑functional project management experience, SaaS experience preferred, continuous learning, proactive problem‑solving and self‑starter approach.
What you’ll do
- Deploy pricing models and reporting practices consistently across the business to aid decision making.
- Work with other Pricing Analysts & Managers on projects to standardize, centralize and optimize pricing processes.
- Partner with Commercial Excellence, Segment, Product Marketing and Finance teams to implement pricing strategies and monitor metrics.
- Focus on standardized analytics, pricing operations and execution, supporting template and workflow development.
- Own end-to-end pricing operations for product line, collaborating with strategic pricing, operations & systems teams.
- Develop documentation of pricing processes and use critical thinking for projects on process redesign & standardization.
- Create standardized price performance reporting, investigate anomalies, present findings and actionable insights.
- Collate, extract, validate and clean raw data, and create, transform and maintain data for quality analysis.
- Support development, execution and maintenance of flexible pricing models, price books and discount guidelines.
- Support definition and implementation of consistent pricing policies, models, standards and best practices across PCoE and TR portfolio.
- Support ad-hoc investigations and projects aimed at improving pricing across the business.
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 6-8 years of experience in pricing operations, reporting, data analytics with focus on pricing/data operations processes & data analysis.
- Strong communication skills, oral and written, ability to influence stakeholders including senior management.
- Working knowledge of data analysis/ETL processes and data table structures.
- Experience with Excel, PowerBI / Tableau, Alteryx, Business Objects and/or SQL.
- Experience in cross-functional managing projects preferred, SaaS experience preferred.
- Demonstrate continuous learning, proactive problem-solving ability & self-starter approach.
