About the role

The Vice President, Senior Backend Developer will lead the design and development of scalable backend systems for Galaxy's lending and commercial products. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure high-performance, secure, and reliable backend infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in backend development, particularly with Node, Express, and TypeScript, and a strong understanding of fintech industry standards. This is a fully remote position based in Mumbai, India.

What you’ll do

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-performance backend systems, APIs, and databases
  • Foster a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning
  • Collaborate with front-end developers, product managers, and DevOps teams
  • Architect scalable, secure, and efficient server-side solutions
  • Implement best practices for code quality, testing, and deployment
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and trends in backend development, blockchain, and fintech

What you’ll bring

  • 7+ years of experience in backend development, with at least 2 years in a senior role
  • Hands-on development experience in Node, Express, TypeScript, and related frameworks like Nest.js
  • Strong experience with SQL and some exposure to NoSQL
  • Experience with microservices and event-based architecture
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Experience using caching and messaging queues like Kafka
  • Experience using Postman and Git/Bitbucket

Nice to have

  • Prior experience working in a startup, taking a product from zero to one
  • Experience in financial markets or brokerages
