Senior Advisor, Software Engineering

About the role

Software Engineering team at MRO drives robust, scalable web platforms for enterprise customers. The Senior Advisor shapes technical direction, defines system architecture, mentors senior engineers, and oversees CI/CD and code governance practices. Pune, MH, India, on-site role with occasional remote flexibility.

What you’ll do

• Provide technical leadership and advisory oversight across engineering teams
• Define and evolve system architecture and design standards
• Mentor senior and mid-level engineers to raise engineering maturity
• Oversee and improve CI/CD, release management, and DevOps practices
• Establish repository management and code governance using Git platforms
• Partner with product and business stakeholders to translate objectives into technical strategy
• Review critical designs and lead architectural discussions
• Drive adoption of security, observability, performance, and reliability best practices

What you’ll bring

• 12+ years software engineering
• Ruby on Rails production experience
• JavaScript modern web development
• SQL (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB/Redis)
• CI/CD pipeline expertise (GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins)
• Git-based source control and repository management
• Leadership and mentorship of senior engineers
