Software Engineering Advisor

About the role

Evernorth Health Services, a division of The Cigna Group, seeks a Senior Software Engineering Advisor to lead end-to-end full stack application design and development. Day-to-day work includes building ReactJS frontends, Java Spring Boot REST APIs, cloud-native AWS services, PostgreSQL integration, CI/CD automation, and leveraging AI-assisted tools like Cursor and GitHub Copilot. The role is based primarily in the Innovation Hub in Hyderabad, India, in a hybrid model (3 days WFO, 2 days WAH), with full-time hours from 11:30 AM to 8:30 PM IST.

What you’ll do

• Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, and technical leadership to gather, analyze, and translate requirements into scalable application solutions
• Design and develop modern, responsive frontend applications using ReactJS, following best practices in performance, accessibility, and usability
• Apply strong UI/UX design principles to deliver intuitive, user-centric interfaces and consistent design systems
• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and RESTful APIs using Java and Spring Boot
• Build cloud-native applications on AWS, leveraging managed services and best practices for scalability, reliability, and security
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to accelerate feature development, improve code quality and documentation, and assist with debugging and test generation
• Integrate applications with PostgreSQL databases, including schema design, query optimization, and transactional consistency
• Implement secure authentication and authorization for web applications and APIs

What you’ll bring

• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related coursework
• Minimum of 8-11 years of experience in Workforce Management
• 8+ years of Software Development experience covering both frontend and backend
• Strong frontend expertise with ReactJS, modern JavaScript/TypeScript, component-based architecture, state management, and performance optimization
• Strong AWS cloud development experience including EC2, S3, RDS/Aurora (PostgreSQL), Lambda, ECS/EKS, IAM, CloudWatch, and API Gateway
• Strong backend development experience using Java and Spring Boot, including REST API design and microservices-based architectures
• Mandatory hands-on experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or equivalent
• Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Git, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar tools
