About the role
RingCentral Events is an all‑in‑one solution for virtual, onsite, and hybrid events. As a Principal FullStack Developer, you will lead the design, development, and maintenance of the virtual event platform, building responsive TypeScript/React front‑end interfaces and scalable backend services. You will work with WebSockets, WebRTC, RTMP, AWS, Terraform, Aurora, PostgreSQL, Redis, and modern backend stacks (Java, Python, Ruby on Rails, etc.) to deliver high‑availability, real‑time communication and streaming capabilities for millions of users worldwide.
What you’ll do
- Collaborate with a distributed, cross‑functional team in designing, building and maintaining a product used by millions of users across the globe. The majority of the team is in Europe, and we expect team members to have at least 5 hours of overlap with EU working hours.
- Develop dynamic and responsive frontend interfaces using TypeScript and React, tailored for virtual and onsite event experiences.
- Use technologies like WebSockets, WebRTC and RTMP to develop real‑time communication and streaming capabilities.
- Engineer solutions that are reliable and scalable, catering to a large number of concurrent users both virtually and onsite.
- Implement cloud‑based solutions using AWS, focusing on high availability and scalability.
- Use Terraform for infrastructure management, ensuring efficient deployment and scalability.
What you’ll bring
- Proven industry experience in building modern web applications using React & TypeScript.
- Experience building scalable backend systems using a modern tech stack. Mide.js/Java/Python/Ruby + Rails preferred, but not required.
- Experience in building cloud native (AWS) applications for large-scale, high-traffic environments, and managing infrastructure as code (Terraform).
- Familiarity with database management (AWS Aurora, PostgreSQL) and caching solutions (Redis).
- Experience with real-time communication technologies, especially WebSocket, WebRTC and RTMP.
- Strong problem-solving skills and proficiency with code versioning tools.
