About the role
Lead Cost Control Engineer responsible for managing project cost-to-complete budgets, forecasting, and cost control for large infrastructure projects. Drives cost accuracy, mitigates risks, aligns cost with schedule, and presents financial data to stakeholders. Requires engineering or finance degree, 5+ years cost/project controls experience, risk management, ERP (SAP) knowledge, team management, and P6 planning skills.
What you’ll do
- Maintain project cost-to-complete budgets and track actual progress
- Support forecast estimation and verify cost accuracy
- Develop mitigation plans with functional leaders and PM
- Align cost forecasts with schedule and risk capture
- Control cost movements and compare with scope and forecast
- Communicate cost status, risks, and mitigation to budget holders
- Present financial data transparently at reviews
- Reconcile project financials with books
- Align cost and schedule with planner for sales pacing
- Report cost movement root causes affecting sales targets
- Support dispute analysis and claims
What you’ll bring
- Engineering or Finance degree
- 5+ years cost/project controls experience
- Risk management process experience
- ERP knowledge (SAP preferred)
- Team management in large projects
- P6 planning software understanding
