Manager Vendor Management

About the role

Vendor Management team at Essar UK Services oversees sourcing, procurement, and inventory of FMCG items across distribution centers. The Manager drives cost‑optimization, negotiates with suppliers, manages purchase orders and vendor payments, and collaborates with operations, finance and supply‑chain teams to ensure uninterrupted supply. Based in Bangalore with additional coverage for Kerala and Coimbatore, this on‑site role includes occasional travel to other locations.

What you’ll do

• Develop and execute procurement strategies ensuring quality and cost efficiency
• Identify, onboard, negotiate and manage vendor relationships
• Oversee purchase orders, contracts, GRN processes and invoice verification
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with warehouse and operations teams
• Analyze procurement data to identify cost‑saving opportunities
• Generate reports on supplier performance and compliance
• Collaborate with Operations, Finance, Supply Chain and Category teams

What you’ll bring

• Bachelor's in Engineering (Mechanical/Industrial) or MBA
• 5-8 years procurement/sourcing experience in FMCG or manufacturing
• Proven negotiation and commercial management skills
• Strong knowledge of inventory planning and supply‑chain operations
• Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets and ERP procurement systems
• Analytical and problem‑solving capabilities
• Ability to manage multiple vendors and priorities in a fast‑paced environment
