About the role
Senior Mechanical Design Engineer leads complex engineering projects in Flowserve’s Order Engineering team. Drives design, analysis, documentation, and production support for centrifugal pump products. Collaborates with global engineering, product specialists, supply chain, and project teams to enhance customer satisfaction and ensure on‑time delivery of documentation. Implements best practices, Flowserve standards, and continuous improvement initiatives. Provides technical solutions for pump‑related problems, coordinates shop floor issues, and supports proposal activities. Performs detailed mechanical design, simulations, and CAD drawings. Acts as primary technical interface for customers and internal stakeholders. Coordinates resources across multiple projects and supports supply chain and production teams. Offers guidance during commissioning and warranty phases. Ensures accuracy, completeness, and compliance of engineering deliverables.
What you’ll do
- Lead complex engineering projects, allocate resources, resolve challenges
- Collaborate with BU and GTEC Engineers to enhance satisfaction
- Coordinate with project teams for smooth execution
- Develop and implement best practices, Flowserve standards
- Direct modifications to programs, methods, designs for technical issues
- Work with Product & Engineering Specialists, Product Management, Corporate Tech
- Coordinate with Design Engineers to resolve shop floor issues, recommend actions
- Produce designs, drawings, documentation using CAD tools
- Identify product and process improvement opportunities
- Provide technical support to stakeholders and customers
- Ensure timely delivery of engineering deliverables and documentation
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, customer satisfaction in documentation packages
- Support proposal activities: pre‑engineering assessments, scope, risk, equipment selection
- Review project specifications from order transfer file for compliance
- Perform detailed mechanical design: layouts, analysis, calculations, simulations
- Act as primary technical interface for customers and internal teams
- Coordinate Order Engineering resources across multiple projects
- Support supply chain: review vendor and buy‑out drawings
- Provide production support: address deviations, clarifications, engineering needs
- Offer guidance during commissioning and warranty phases
- Review technical documentation packages, verify performance, recommend modifications
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor's or Master's in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
- 10+ years in centrifugal pump industry
- Proficiency in CAD and 3D design tools
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and computer skills
- Excellent planning, time management, and organizational abilities
- Solid understanding of engineering documentation, drafting standards, GDD, tolerancing
- Strong communication skills in English—both written and verbal
- Ability to collaborate effectively with global and cross‑functional teams
- Demonstrated ability to think creatively, solve problems, and make sound decisions
- Ability to analyze complex engineering problems, collect data, draw logical conclusions
- Strong understanding of engineering products, design principles, manufacturing processes
- Proven team collaboration and positive interpersonal skills
