VP, IS Risk - Assurance

About the role
Information Security Risk Management (ISRM) at Synchrony protects the business by embedding security risk management across technology. The VP leads assurance activities, overseeing control testing, 1LOD assessments, client audits, third‑party contract reviews and cyber‑insurance quantification while partnering with InfoSec, Sourcing, Tech and Legal. Hyderabad, India, on‑site role with hybrid flexibility as needed.
What you’ll do
- Oversee end‑to‑end control assurance across InfoSec sub‑functions
- Pilot and execute first‑line‑of‑defence assessments
- Lead client assessment program and coordinate audits
- Review third‑party contracts for compliance and risk
- Support FedLine and other assessments with SMEs
- Drive cyber‑insurance renewal efforts
- Develop security assurance standards and procedures
- Execute special projects as assigned
What you’ll bring
- 10+ years InfoSec experience
- 12+ years experience if no degree
- 8+ years progressive security risk or audit experience
- Strong knowledge of US banking regulations (NIST, PCI DSS, HIPAA, CRI)
- Design and execute control assurance programs
- Experience with external attack surface monitoring tools
- Executive communication and stakeholder influence
