About the role

AECOM's Building Structures team in Gurugram, India, seeks a Principal Engineer to deliver technical solutions for complex building projects across global offices. The role independently develops approaches to difficult structural problems, with a focus on retail and hospitality medium to large projects, while applying building design services, associated regulations, and technical standards. This is a hybrid position requiring an in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office.

What you’ll do

  • Develops technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems
  • Works under only general direction and independently determines and develops approach to solutions
  • Receives instructions on specific assignment objectives, complex features, and possible solutions
  • Capable of working on own initiative with overall responsibility and accountability for assigned work
  • Must be a team player

What you’ll bring

  • Master of Engineering degree (or equivalent) in an appropriate engineering discipline from an accredited college or university
  • 8-12 years of experience in Civil Engineering
  • Experience in retail and hospitality medium to large projects
  • Experience in delivering projects in BIM and relevant discipline software
  • Knowledgeable in building design services, associated regulations and technical standards
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well independently
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to make decisions, act on own initiative and operate in a pro-active way

Nice to have

Middle East/US/UK experience (desirable but not essential)
