About the role
Manufacturing Systems and Infrastructure (MSI) team at Apple designs, develops and maintains system tools, services and applications to run manufacturing operations at scale across global factory sites. As a Wireless Systems Automation Engineer you will lead regional wireless technologies, AI‑assisted automation and edge computing on the factory floor, building ML pipelines, deploying edge hardware and supporting line‑bring‑ups. Remote‑India, on-site work model, up to 30% travel.
What you’ll do
- Lead regional engineering for wireless and AI‑driven automation
- Design and scale machine learning pipelines on manufacturing lines
- Deploy edge computing hardware for real-time AI inference
- Own end‑to‑end new line bring‑ups from architecture to AI model deployment
- Provide hands‑on support to resolve line‑blocking issues
- Collaborate with QA, Hardware, Operations and Product teams
What you’ll bring
- 5+ years object‑oriented programming
- Proficiency in Python, Embedded C/C++, Perl, Ruby, Bash
- Experience with Generative AI tools (GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT)
- Deep knowledge of IoT messaging (MQTT, CoAP) and network protocols
- Expertise in Bluetooth and NFC
- Firmware development and edge device debugging
- Travel up to 30% internationally
- Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science or related field
