About the role

Principal Wireless Systems Engineer at NXP Semiconductors leads the design and validation of transceiver DSP architecture, silicon bring‑up, and RF modeling for next‑generation Wi‑Fi chipsets. The role involves creating experiments to evaluate PHY layer performance, supporting silicon characterization through QA cycles, and developing automation tools in C/C++ or MATLAB. Candidates must possess deep knowledge of signal processing, digital communications, and wireless standards such as IEEE 802.11, 4G LTE, and 5G NR. The position requires hands‑on experience with lab equipment, root‑cause analysis, and scripting for performance evaluation. What you’ll do

Design experiments to test PHY layer performance metrics
Support silicon evaluation and debug throughout QA cycles
Analyze results, identify root causes, propose improvements

What you’ll bring

Ph.D. + 6 years or M.S.E.E. + 8 years in wireless communications
Strong foundation in signal processing & digital communications
Fluent in MATLAB and/or C/C++
Hands‑on silicon bring‑up & characterization with lab equipment
Knowledge of MIMO, OFDM, IEEE 802.11, 4G LTE, 5G NR
Experience in scripting & automation tools
