Engineering Advisor

About the role

Engineering Advisor at Castrol India, part of bp Group, drives future of lubricants and beyond. Based in Mumbai, responsible for BAU capex portfolio, project pipeline development, budgeting, approvals, cash flow, and reporting. Leads multi‑functional supply‑chain and engineering projects, supports asset integrity, OMS system, and process safety evaluations (PHA, HAZOP, PHSSER). Manages plant maintenance system dashboards, standardizes capex processes per BP CVP, and owns capex metrics with monthly reviews and quarterly engineering meetings. Requires 12‑15 years manufacturing/engineering experience, B.Tech in Mechanical/Chemical/Electrical or equivalent, strong project management, customer leadership, and process safety knowledge. Certifications in Six Sigma, PMP, Lean, or statistical analysis are added advantage. Up to 10% travel, relocation within India, and on‑site work model.

What you’ll do

  • Drive BAU capex delivery, pipeline dev, budgeting, approvals, cash flow
  • Evaluate proposals, engage customers, handle approvals, track projects
  • Communicate with customers, provide updates, manage expectations
  • Support asset integrity, OMS system guidance
  • Conduct process safety evals, HAZOP, PHSSER coordination
  • Manage plant maintenance system, dashboards
  • Lead multi-functional supply chain projects, master-plan implementation
  • Own capex metrics, run monthly review, quarterly engineering meetings
  • Prepare India capex spend reports, share with finance
  • Develop BAU pipelines from RAT, growth plan, capacity gap, safety risk, new product launch, PHA
  • Finalize yearly projects, stage gate CVP process, review cost estimates, timelines
  • Establish dashboards, highlight improvements, share learning
  • Standardize capex processes, align with BP CVP
  • Act in line with BP values

What you’ll bring

B.Tech Mechanical/Chemical/Electrical engineering or Master degree

Nice to have

  • Six sigma/PMP/Lean management/statistical analysis certification
  • Process safety standards knowledge
