About the role
Product Development team at Mattel Technology & Innovation Center (MTIC) drives innovative toy creation by translating concepts into manufacturable products. The Engineer facilitates product engineering pilots, debug and production support with contract manufacturers, and supports new product introduction activities. Based in Belagavi, India with a hybrid model (4 days onsite).
What you’ll do
- Assist in developing and translating product concepts into defined toys
- Partner with development teams to launch products in OEM plants
- Drive debug, pilot testing and troubleshoot production issues
- Improve process control and line efficiency while minimizing scrap
- Identify cost‑saving and value‑engineering opportunities
- Apply plastics, assembly and electronics knowledge to create robust solutions
- Participate in quality assurance and safety compliance initiatives
- Manage projects to meet schedule and business objectives
What you’ll bring
- BA/BS in Mechanical, Manufacturing or related engineering
- Product engineering or development experience in toys or consumer products
- Proficiency in CAD tools such as SolidWorks or Creo
- Knowledge of plastic materials, molding, tooling and electronics
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Effective written English communication
- Ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams
- Experience with project management and troubleshooting
