Senior Associate, Fund Accounting (Public Credit)

About the role

Ares Management’s US Public Credit accounting team seeks a Senior Associate to oversee daily accounting and NAV reporting for publicly traded BDCs and regulated investment companies in Mumbai, India. The role involves preparing US GAAP financial statements, managing cash activities, and coordinating with internal teams and auditors for monthly and quarterly close processes. This is a full-time, on-site position requiring significant post-qualification experience.

What you’ll do

• Prepare US GAAP financial statements for monthly, quarterly, and annual SEC filings
• Oversee and review daily and monthly NAV packages from fund administrators
• Manage daily cash activities, payments, and general ledger postings for publicly traded BDCs
• Assist with monthly/quarterly close processes and account balance reconciliations
• Review NQ, NCSRS, NCSR, and NPORT reporting for funds
• Provide compliance reporting including Form PF and ADV
• Collaborate on expense allocation and recovery functions between investment funds
• Liaise with internal resources, offshore teams, fund administrators, and auditors

What you’ll bring

• Bachelor’s Degree and CA Qualified
• Minimum 7-9 years of post-qualifications experience in accounting or cash management
• Basic understanding of US GAAP
• Intermediate or advanced Excel skills

Nice to have

• CPA equivalent certification
• Industry experience in fund accounting
• Experience with Advent Geneva or Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
