Senior SDET Engineer

About the role

At Apple, the global eBusiness team delivers system connectivity internally and externally using industry-standard and in-house platforms. As a Senior SDET Engineer, you will develop automation frameworks, tools, and end-to-end functional tests for front-end applications and backend services, implement performance testing, and collaborate with Automation and QA Engineers to improve productivity and release quality. This role is based in India.

What you’ll do

• Create, maintain, and expand internal applications, automation frameworks, tools and end-to-end functional tests
• Develop frameworks, tools and tests for the front end application and backend services
• Implement performance testing
• Work closely with Automation and QA Engineers to develop robust solutions that improve productivity and ship releases with high quality
• Engage in daily discussions with business teams and cross-functional partners to drive the genesis of tools and applications
• Develop innovative solutions and strategies that expand the coverage of features delivered to customers
• Strengthen the Apple ecosystem by delivering world class software
• Lead automation efforts at Apple

What you’ll bring

• Strong experience writing automation scripts using Playwright - Python
• Advanced experience in Python programming
• Strong experience in developing test automation for RESTful API Services
• Experience with Performance testing using Jmeter/Locust plus understanding of metrics and key performance indicators
• Advanced experience in developing and working with test automation frameworks TestNG, Pytest, BDD frameworks like Cucumber or Gauge
• Excellent knowledge and experience with test methodologies (Integration testing, Performance testing, Functional testing, etc.)
• Experience with Git and codebase management
• Proficient experience with CI/CD Technologies, preferably Jenkins

Nice to have

• Experience writing automation scripts using Selenium - Java
• Knowledge in understanding the Security principles
• Experience applying a quality engineering mindset to improve coverage, reliability, and confidence in large-scale applications
• An enthusiasm for user-focused design & high-quality products
• Partner with global teams, development managers, and other teams to organize testing responsibilities, and to drive strategic initiatives
• Proficient knowledge on risk management in QA
• Ability to investigate, debug and triage difficult problems both independently and collaboratively
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to facilitate close interaction with development teams, management, and other teams within Apple
