About the role
Retail Credit department at Axis Bank, the underwriting hub for all retail products. The Credit Manager leads a team of 5-7 associates, overseeing turnaround time, data quality, loan decisioning, audit compliance, and process improvements. Based in Bhiwandi, on-site work model.
What you’ll do
- Monitor turnaround time from login to sanction for all products
- Validate data entry quality and ensure timely updates in banking applications
- Review loan proposals and make decisions per bank policy
- Ensure audit and compliance adherence, preventing negative observations
- Provide training, drive process improvements, and give policy feedback
- Manage vendors and participate in pilot testing initiatives
- Stakeholder management across departments
- Generate ideas for projects to improve efficiency and reduce costs
What you’ll bring
- Graduate or Post-Graduation (MBA/CA preferred)
- 8-12 years experience in retail credit
- Team handling experience (5-7 members)
- Knowledge of credit, industry and product trends
- Familiarity with regulatory guidelines and norms
- Strong verbal and written communication in English and local language
