Senior Consultant, Transfer Agency

About the role

Northern Trust seeks a Senior Consultant, Transfer Agency in Pune, India, to lead end-to-end transfer agency processing and consulting within the Asset Servicing and Wealth Management operations. The role handles subscriptions, redemptions, conversions, exchanges, dividend and cash activities, while managing strategic change, process re-engineering, and new business initiatives as a technical subject-matter expert. The position operates independently, advises on significant business decisions, coordinates cross-functional projects, and serves as the escalation point for the India TA team.

What you’ll do

• Undertake all processing activities including subscriptions, redemptions, conversions, exchanges, dividend and box management activities, including cash payments/receipts related to dealing activities
• Manage large and/or complex projects such as strategic change management, new business/product initiatives, process re-engineering, and merger and acquisitions integration
• Provide multi-disciplinary consulting services such as marketing and technology to business groups
• Operate independently with in-depth knowledge of the business unit/function and provide comprehensive, in-depth consulting and leadership to the team and partners at a high technical level
• Carry out activities that are large in scope, cross-functional, and technically difficult
• Conduct preliminary analysis and share findings, and analyse monthly management information to identify quality improvement opportunities
• Interact directly with committees and/or management, and liaise with clients (home locations) regarding Service and Service Level Agreements
• Set partner objectives, monitor these, provide feedback through monthly one-to-one meetings, and provide management and guidance to staff to foster teamwork and communication

What you’ll bring

• 24 months of experience as a Consultant to qualify for Senior Consultant
• Good understanding of Transfer Agency processes end to end
• Good understanding of effective risk management
• Excellent planning and organisation skills
• Effective verbal reasoning, numeric and analytical skills
• Superior knowledge of MS Excel, Word, and graph creation with good keyboard skills
• Ability to learn systems used within the business
• Ability to work under pressure and meet challenging deadlines
