About the role
IIMB Library leads the institute’s teaching and research mission by shaping library strategy, adopting emerging technologies, and managing resources. The Librarian directs print and electronic collections, oversees budget and staff, and partners with faculty to integrate library instruction and services. Based in India, on-site at the IIMB campus, the role includes leading a team of deputy and assistant librarians and driving innovative library initiatives.
What you’ll do
- Develop and implement library policies and strategic plans
- Manage print and electronic collections, acquisition, and preservation
- Oversee library budget, staffing, and performance evaluations
- Coordinate library instruction sessions and faculty collaborations
- Lead outreach, marketing, and community engagement initiatives
- Implement emerging technologies such as RFID and discovery services
- Ensure compliance with copyright, data protection, and intellectual property regulations
- Supervise deputy, assistant librarians, and support staff
What you’ll bring
- Master's degree in library science or related field
- Minimum 10 years experience as Librarian or Deputy Librarian in academic institution
- Experience managing national/international library resources
- Experience with RFID, discovery services, ILS, digital repositories
- Proven leadership and people management skills
- Budget and resource management experience
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement
