Senior Engineer SCM

About the role

Weir Minerals seeks a Senior Engineer - SCM (Assistant Manager - Sales) to drive sales growth of mining and mineral processing equipment across Karnataka, India. The role involves business development, customer relationship management, and leading techno-commercial proposals for pumps and slurry pumps. Based in Bangalore with a remote/field-based work model, the position requires extensive travel to customer sites and mining locations.

What you’ll do

• Drive sales growth by generating revenue through the sale of Weir Minerals equipment, spares, and services
• Identify, qualify, and develop new business opportunities within Karnataka focusing on mining and mineral processing customers
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers at operational, maintenance, engineering, procurement, and leadership levels
• Conduct regular visits to understand customer needs and identify opportunities
• Deliver technical presentations and sales promotions to support customer engagement
• Prepare and present detailed techno-commercial proposals and lead technical discussions
• Negotiate commercially with customers and manage the entire sales process from opportunity identification through order closure
• Oversee customer accounts across Karnataka with focus on mining and mineral processing operations

What you’ll bring

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (B.E./B.Tech)
• 5-7 years of experience in technical sales of industrial equipment
• Preference for experience with pumps, slurry pumps, or mineral processing equipment
• Proven ability to manage the complete sales cycle independently
• Willingness and ability to travel extensively across Karnataka (50%+ travel)
• Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships at multiple levels
• Capability to prepare and present detailed techno-commercial proposals
