About the role
Bread Financial seeks a Full-Stack Engineer, 2 in Bangalore, India, to develop and enhance financial technology solutions by translating requirements into functional software. The role involves full-stack development across the SDLC, improving frontend, backend, and UI/UX components, mentoring junior engineers, and collaborating across teams. This hybrid position includes an on-call rotation covering evenings or weekends.
What you’ll do
- Utilize the software development lifecycle to implement technology solutions that create and enhance applications
- Translate requirements into technical designs and application code
- Develop design specs, including UI layouts, and convert them into functioning components
- Provide technical on-call escalation and guidance to on-call developers and respond to incident inquiries
- Create and execute unit tests to proactively identify issues, analyze and review code to identify causes of errors and defects, and remediate known errors
- Define and enforce relevant code standards, estimate and size work based on high-level requirements, and continuously improve applications and processes for quality, efficiency, and user experience
- Design and lead the development of complex software solutions ensuring alignment with business goals, oversee the SDLC for quality and timeliness, and conduct code reviews to maintain software integri
- Optimize system performance and scalability through modern frameworks, lead code reviews and testing practices, and resolve system defects and bottlenecks to ensure reliability and scalability
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent relevant work experience
- 5+ years of work experience in related field (SDLC across Full Stack, Frontend, Backend Development, and UI/UX engineering)
- Proficient in at least two and ideally three programming languages
- Develop or maintain at least three applications
- Ability to drive team initiatives such as GitHub, Copilot, or AWS Migration
- Work autonomously while providing technical supervision to peers
- Demonstrate appreciable business knowledge within financial services and marketing domains
