Senior Engineer, Thermal

About the role

Thermal Engineering team at Mahindra & Mahindra designs engine cooling systems for LCV, pickup and MPV vehicles. The role performs heat load calculations, system layout creation, CFD/CAE analysis, and creates detailed specifications using CATIA V5 and GD&T. Chakan, Maharashtra, India, on-site work model, relocation assistance available.

What you’ll do

• Design and develop engine cooling systems for LCV/Pickup/MPV platforms
• Perform heat load calculations and size cooling components
• Create system layouts and packaging using DMU and Teamcenter
• Analyze CFD/CAE results and implement corrective actions
• Develop specifications for radiators, CAC, degassing tanks, and fans
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and suppliers for design assessments
• Conduct durability, performance, and reliability testing
• Maintain GD&T standards and documentation

What you’ll bring

• 6-8 years experience in automotive thermal engineering
• Proficient in heat load calculations and 1D simulation for radiator temperature prediction
• Expertise in CATIA V5 for 3D modeling and 2D drafting
• Strong knowledge of GD&T, tolerance stack‑up analysis, and DFMEA
• Experience interpreting CFD/CAE results and corrective actions
• Familiar with Teamcenter/PLM for system layout creation
• Knowledge of radiator, CAC, degassing tank, electrical and viscous fan design
• Ability to benchmark vehicles and maintain a technical database
