About the role

GE Aerospace – JFWTC in Bengaluru is a multidisciplinary research and engineering center known for high EHS standards. The Senior EHS Manager leads all aspects of environment, health, and safety program implementation, compliance, and risk mitigation across the site and all GE Aerospace owned labs and functional areas. Day-to-day work includes driving EHS strategy and excellence culture, providing technical leadership on EHS issues, ensuring regulatory compliance, leading incident investigations and training, conducting audits, and partnering with global and regional EHS teams. The role operates with medium/high autonomy and requires strong operational judgment within the SQDC framework.

What you’ll do

  • Drive EHS strategy and excellence culture at the site to ensure safety
  • Provide leadership and guidance in implementing and sustaining GE Aerospace's global EHS expectations and framework at the site
  • Develop, implement, and sustain proactive programs to prevent and address occupational hazards
  • Ensure compliance with applicable EHS regulatory requirements (KSPCB, MOEF, KSFCA, AERB, etc.) for a research and development organization
  • Act as the immediate contact for researchers, engineers, and functional staff on environmental, health, and safety needs and issues
  • Provide guidance and support for incident/event investigation and lead employee engagement events and safety teams
  • Lead and guide the team to develop and conduct EHS training and maintain EHS-related records
  • Perform periodical inspections and audits to verify compliance and ensure safe work practices, and collaborate with global and regional EHS teams

What you’ll bring

  • Engineering degree in Environmental, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or related discipline, or a Master’s Degree in EHS
  • Minimum 15+ years of working experience in industry
  • Knowledge of Indian EHS Regulations applicable to a research and development organization
  • Experience in EHS
  • Ability to lead EHS program implementation, compliance, and risk mitigation
  • Proficiency with the SQDC framework and data analysis to support recommendations
  • Strong oral and written communication and organizational skills
  • Capability to conduct incident/event investigation and lead EHS training
