Vice President Credit Officer

About the role

Credit Risk team at Citi evaluates commercial credit requests and drives risk strategy. The Vice President Credit Officer leads underwriting, performs detailed financial and industry analysis, and mentors junior officers while ensuring compliance with Citi policies. Mumbai, India, hybrid work model (3 days onsite).

What you’ll do

• Interface with bankers to underwrite commercial credit extensions
• Prepare detailed credit summaries and financial analyses
• Conduct industry, geographical research and due diligence
• Maintain compliance with credit and regulatory policies
• Identify process improvements and lead implementation projects
• Provide backup support to Credit Underwriting Group Manager and lead initiatives

What you’ll bring

• 6-10 years credit authority experience
• Experience in regulatory and compliance policy environment
• Strong analytical skills for financial statement and cash flow analysis
• Knowledge of intermediate accounting theory applied to credit underwriting
• Proficient in Excel and Word for financial modeling
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Ability to work autonomously and mentor junior staff
