Network Automation Engineer

About the role

IT Infrastructure Services team at TCS focuses on building and maintaining network automation platforms to improve operational efficiency. The Network Automation Engineer designs, develops, and supports automation workflows using tools like Ansible, Terraform, and Python, and creates data models (YANG, JSON, YAML, XML) for network configurations. Chennai, On-site, hybrid schedule as needed.

What you’ll do

• Develop and maintain network automation platforms using orchestrators such as Ansible, Terraform, Python, NSO, SaltStack, and StackStorm
• Build scalable workflow engines to automate provisioning, configuration, compliance, and operational tasks
• Implement reusable automation modules, libraries, and pipelines with testing and validation
• Create and maintain data models (YANG, JSON, YAML, XML) for configurations, inventory, and service definitions
• Map network business requirements to logical service models and templates
• Establish relationships between topology, inventory, and configuration datasets

What you’ll bring

• 6-15 years of experience in network automation
• Proficiency in Python and Ansible
• Experience with Terraform, NSO, SaltStack or StackStorm
• Strong knowledge of YANG, JSON, YAML, XML data modeling
• Ability to develop scalable workflow engines
• Experience with network provisioning and configuration automation
