Senior Staff Cloud Platform Engineer

About the role

Platform Engineering at Equinix builds and operates the cloud platform and developer tooling that enables self‑service infrastructure and secure, cost‑efficient services. The Senior Staff Cloud Platform Engineer leads architecture reviews, designs multi‑account strategies, and creates internal developer platforms using Terraform, Terragrunt and Kubernetes. Works hybrid in Bangalore, collaborating with engineering, security and product teams to define SLOs, drive automation, and mentor engineers.

What you’ll do

• Designs and evolves cloud platform architecture
• Builds internal developer platforms and reusable IaC modules
• Leads architectural review processes across teams
• Implements DevSecOps pipelines with policy‑as‑code
• Defines and operationalizes SLOs, error budgets and incident response
• Mentors senior and mid‑level engineers
• Drives cost optimization and FinOps initiatives
• Reports platform health and release status

What you’ll bring

• 10+ years software/infrastructure engineering
• Hands‑on AWS/Azure/GCP expertise
• Terraform & Terragrunt IaC proficiency
• Docker & Kubernetes production experience
• CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Argo CD
• Python and/or Go scripting
• Security tooling: SAST/DAST, OPA, SBOMs
• Observability with Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog

Nice to have

Bachelor’s in Computer Science or equivalent
