Senior Engineer CAD

About the role

Valeo, a global automotive supplier, seeks an Engineer / Senior Engineer – CAD to design and validate 3D/2D CAD models for automotive lighting and plastics components. Responsibilities include creating accurate drawings, ensuring compliance with Branch CAD methodology, managing CAD data in VLS PDM/PLM, and coordinating CAD operations. Requires proficiency in CATIA V5, CAD software, and knowledge of automotive design, headlamp/rear lamp, and plastics moulding. The role supports product design, quality procedures, and project milestones in a collaborative R&D environment.

What you’ll do

• Define 3D/2D CAD models per design specs and constraints.
• Create 2D drawings following drawing rules and tolerances.
• Ensure CAD quality via methodology, tools, checklists, auto control.
• Design small technical features (clips, locators, ribs, harnesses).
• Promote and follow quality procedures.
• Validate CAD data in VLS Branch PDM/PLM systems.
• Manage lead-time and costs, meet project milestones.
• Pilot CAD operators and oversee CAD operations.
• Plan and control CAD work orders.
