About the role
Ensono Mainframe Services team drives reliable mainframe infrastructure for enterprise clients. The Senior Mainframe Systems Programmer configures hardware like HCD and IOCP, supports tape, DASD, CPU, and handles escalations, migrations, and disaster recovery across data centers. Chennai, India, on-site, hybrid shift 1:30 PM‑10:30 PM.
What you’ll do
- Configure and maintain mainframe hardware equipment
- Support tape, DASD, CPU, and related components
- Assist client migrations and data center transitions
- Provide 24x7 escalation support for hardware issues
- Execute disaster recovery plans and coordinate with teams
- Document issue resolution in tracking system
- Collaborate with project managers on migration timelines
- Communicate status updates to customers and management
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- 8+ years mainframe hardware support
- Experience creating HCD and IOCP
- Proficiency with Z Series HMC
- Knowledge of IODF and DASD configurations
- Strong understanding of z/OS operating system
- Disaster recovery planning experience
- Familiarity with system monitoring tools
