About the role

Karya, an AI-driven platform creating dignified opportunities for low-income communities, seeks a Lead – Public Policy in Delhi. This hybrid role drives government engagement, policy research, and strategic partnerships to advance equitable AI innovation. The position involves managing stakeholder relationships, drafting policy materials, and executing government-facing projects while ensuring operational discipline.

What you’ll do

• Manage and strengthen relationships with Central and State Governments and ecosystem stakeholders
• Conduct high-quality research on public policy, economics, technology, and regulatory issues
• Draft policy positions, consultation responses, briefing notes, and proposals for external audiences
• Support government partnerships from scoping through proposal development and implementation
• Track government priorities and institutional developments impacting Karya's work
• Maintain stakeholder databases, engagement trackers, and internal documentation
• Coordinate meeting schedules, logistics, and follow-ups for government engagements
• Manage defined policy workstreams with clear timelines, ownership, and deliverables

What you’ll bring

• 2-4 years of relevant professional experience in public policy or related fields
• Degree in public policy, economics, law, political science, or related field
• Strong research and analytical ability across policy, economics, technology, or legal issues
• Excellent written communication skills for producing clear policy materials

Nice to have

• Experience engaging Central or State Government stakeholders
• Exposure to technology/AI policy, digital governance, or development policy
• Proven track record of drafting policy submissions or senior-level briefing materials
• Ability to coordinate multi-stakeholder projects or partnerships
