Lead Software Test Engineer

About the role

SimCorp's DMS Change Management Team provides reference data management and valuation solutions for leading financial institutions. As Lead Software Test Engineer, you will own test strategy and quality direction, drive automation adoption, and lead/mentor a testing team to mitigate release risks across the Capital Markets portfolio. This full-time role is based in Noida and follows a hybrid work model (2 days per week in the office).

What you’ll do

• Own and define test strategy and test plans across the program, aligning testing activities with business requirements and project objectives
• Oversee the development of comprehensive test cases across the team, covering functionalities, user journeys, and edge cases
• Set quality gates and drive execution of manual and automated test cases; ensure defects are identified, reported, tracked, and resolved
• Drive performance and security testing practices to ensure systems meet performance and security standards
• Analyze test results and quality metrics across the team, identify trends, and drive improvements to optimize testing processes
• Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders: developers, product owners, business analysts, and leadership
• Collaborate with development leads to resolve defects, improve code quality, and align on quality standards
• Lead code and test strategy reviews and provide testing feedback and direction to the team

What you’ll bring

• 10+ years of experience as a Test Professional in Quality Assurance, including demonstrated experience leading or mentoring a testing team
• Expertise in the ETL Process
• In-depth understanding of Capital Markets: financial instruments, trading platforms, regulations, and industry best practices
• Deep experience across testing methodologies: manual testing, regression, smoke, sanity, automation, and API testing
• Proficiency in agile methodology and workflow, Azure DevOps, and Salesforce know-how
• Deep knowledge of Test Automation Frameworks (Hybrid and Data-driven) and ability to define target framework strategy
• Knowledge of databases and SQL queries: ability to write and review queries to extract test data or verify results
• Solid business understanding of Financial Data Management — Reference data, Asset Managers, Corporate Actions

Nice to have

• ISTQB certification (Advanced level a plus)
• Capital Markets domain knowledge, preferably with BUY SIDE firms and experience
• Experience working with Reference Data Management setup and understanding of various asset classes (Equity, Derivatives, and Fixed Income, etc.) and Market data feeds (Reuters, Bloomberg, MarkIT, etc.
• Prior formal people-management or team-lead experience
