Automation Control Engineer, Weld Automation

About the role

Production team at Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. designs, develops, and installs automation systems for weld lines, handling PLC, HMI, and sensor integration. The role programs and troubleshoots PLCs, validates weld standards, and commissions equipment while coordinating cross‑functional upgrades. Based in Gujarat with on‑site work at Mehsana, Gurugram, Kharkhoda, and Manesar.

What you’ll do

• Design and develop automation solutions for weld lines
• Prepare specifications and select equipment including robots and control panels
• Program, test, and troubleshoot PLC and HMI systems
• Integrate sensors, vision cameras, and safety interlocks
• Perform root‑cause analysis of control issues
• Document control logic, wiring diagrams, and system architecture
• Validate installations against weld standards and check sheets
• Commission weld lines and hand over to production and maintenance teams

What you’ll bring

• Diploma in relevant field
• 4-12 years automation experience
• Hands‑on PLC programming (Mitsubishi preferred)
• Experience with industrial communication protocols (CC‑Link, Ethernet/IP)
• Familiarity with vision systems (Cognex, Keyence)
• Knowledge of safety PLCs and interlocks
• Basic procurement experience (SAP, ARIBA)
• Robot control circuit knowledge (Fanuc, Yaskawa, Kawasaki)
