About the role
AI Engineering team at Barclays builds enterprise AI capabilities, delivering agentic AI and LLM-powered applications for thousands of colleagues. The Applied AI Engineer designs, develops, and secures scalable AI/ML features, implements RAG patterns, and integrates AI services on cloud platforms. Bengaluru and Pune offices, on-site work model.
What you’ll do
- Develop and deliver high‑quality AI/ML software solutions
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to define requirements
- Participate in code reviews and promote code quality
- Implement secure coding practices and unit testing
- Stay current with AI/ML trends and contribute to technical communities
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- 3+ years software engineering experience on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Proficiency in Python and building REST APIs
- Experience with GenAI/LLM systems and agentic AI frameworks
- Hands‑on with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines
- Knowledge of AWS services such as EC2/EKS, S3, IAM, RDS, Bedrock or SageMaker
