About the role

NCR Atleos is a leader in expanding financial access, with 20,000 employees optimizing branch operations and self-service availability for financial institutions and retailers globally. The Customer Engineer 1 (CE1) owns assigned customer incidents, performing minor repairs, component replacements, and first-line maintenance on Tier I equipment such as PCs, workstations, peripherals, printers, front-end POS systems, ATMs, kiosks, and single pocket proof encoders. The role also handles site preparation, equipment staging, installation, and preventative maintenance, resolving or escalating customer concerns to the Territory Manager or Control Tower within SLA parameters. Based in India (APAC-India-India) and delivered virtually, the position requires a full-time schedule with nights, weekends, overtime, flex shifts, and on-call shifts.

What you’ll do

  • Own and resolve assigned customer incidents, escalating to the Territory Manager, Control Tower, or appropriate associate when needed, maintaining ownership until resolution within SLA
  • Perform minor repairs and component replacements at the module level on Tier I equipment including PCs, workstations, peripherals, printers, front-end POS systems, ATMs, kiosks, and single pocket proo
  • Conduct first-line maintenance, multi-vendor maintenance, and periodic preventative maintenance on assigned products
  • Assist in site preparation and equipment installation, including cable installation, equipment staging, minor testing, and limited modifications or Field Retrofit Orders (FROs)
  • Perform modular swaps and unit replacements as required
  • Build working relationships with customers and develop informal communication channels at the local branch, store, or office level
  • Communicate across all levels—Service/Installation Coordinator, customer, and Control Tower—throughout the service activity
  • Maintain accurate and prompt reporting of calls, activity, expenses, and customer asset information for invoicing/billing

What you’ll bring

  • Valid driver's license and cleared background check and drug screen
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, overtime, flex shifts, and on-call shifts
  • A+ Certification (or equivalent training in electronics/computer technology)
  • One year of college-level courses, equivalent military training, or trade school training in electronics/computer technology with theory and hands-on time
  • College degree or certificate in electronics or computer technology (preferred)
  • Job-related experience in electronic or electromechanical devices (preferred, not required)
  • Previous experience as an electronics bench or rework technician (preferred)
