Senior Equity Research Associate

About the role

HSBC is seeking a Senior Equity Research Associate - Research to join its equity research team in Bangalore, Karnataka, India. The role involves creating and maintaining financial models for coverage companies, contributing to company reports, sector notes, and thematic research, and conducting primary research. You will monitor news and regulatory changes, track developments for the global team, and manage internal and external client requests while developing client marketing and presentation materials.

What you’ll do

• Creating, maintaining and updating financial models of coverage companies
• Making meaningful contribution to company reports, sector notes and thematic research with guidance from onshore counterparts
• Undertaking primary research for key thematic reports
• Monitoring news and events and keeping global team appraised of new developments
• Tracking and analysing regulatory changes and their impact on the sector
• Managing, compiling and responding to internal and external client requests
• Developing and maintaining client marketing and presentation materials

What you’ll bring

• Sound knowledge of financial statement analysis and security valuation methodologies such as DCF and relative valuations
• Proficiency with financial research tools including Bloomberg, Datastream, and FactSet
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with attention to detail
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to perform data analysis
• Good data management and analysis skills, comfortable maintaining and updating existing models and databases
• CA or MBA in Finance from top tier institutes
• 2-5 years of experience in financial research
