About the role

Priceline's Technology team is the backbone of the company, constantly creating, testing, learning, and iterating to better meet customer needs. As a Senior Development Manager in the Product Operating Model (POM), you will build and enable high-performing Data Engineering teams, overseeing delivery execution, mentoring engineers, and acting as the critical connector between Product Managers, Architects, and Developers. You will be based in Mumbai and follow a hybrid work model with two days in-office.

What you’ll do

Hire, mentor, and coach Data Engineers to grow skills and careers
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
Allocate team members effectively across initiatives to maximize delivery capacity
Oversee timelines, deliverables, and commitments to ensure on-time completion
Facilitate daily standups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives
Identify and remove blockers, escalating issues where needed to maintain flow
Act as the key bridge between Product and Engineering teams, ensuring clear communication of priorities, requirements, and constraints
Ensure solutions meet defined quality, security, and performance standards as established by architecture teams

What you’ll bring

Experience managing Data Engineering teams
Skilled in Agile development and confident facilitating team ceremonies
Experience leading design reviews and technical decision-making
Experience in SQL, Python, Spark, Big Data Technologies including Data warehousing, Data ingestion, Data lake
Cloud experience required, preferably on GCP
Strong cross-functional collaborator with clear communication and follow-through
Able to balance technical excellence with delivery pressure in a fast-paced environment
Unquestionable integrity and ethics

Nice to have

Familiarity with Kafka, BigQuery, BigTable, DataProc, GCS, DataFlow, composer orchestration is a plus
