About the role

The FORT Tech team within Morgan Stanley's FINTECH division seeks a Java Lead Engineer to design and deliver scalable enterprise-grade reporting solutions. This Vice President-level role involves architecting systems using Java and Angular, driving GenAI adoption for developer productivity, and mentoring engineering teams. The position is based in Mumbai, India.

What you’ll do

• Lead design, development, and delivery of scalable reporting and analytics solutions
• Architect robust software systems using Java, Angular, and modern technologies
• Drive adoption of GenAI and AI-driven practices for automation and productivity
• Mentor and lead a high-performing team of engineers
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements and evaluate tools
• Promote agile methodologies, automated testing, and CI/CD pipelines
• Manage stakeholder relationships and proactively address project risks
• Champion the adoption of emerging technologies and industry trends

What you’ll bring

• 10-15 years of software engineering experience with full stack background
• Strong specialization in Java (Spring Boot, REST APIs)
• Deep understanding of data structures, algorithms, and design patterns
• Proven experience building and scaling enterprise-level applications

Nice to have

• Prior experience in finance, investment banking, or related domains
• Demonstrated experience leveraging GenAI, Copilot, or AI-based tools
• Experience leading and motivating high-performing teams
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, databases, or similar technologies
